BMW 5 SERIES EXPECTED TO BE ON THE ROAD IN MARCH 2010

The BMW 5 series is one of the most wanted BMW series car. Till now 5 generations of the BMW 5 series have bee marketed. The sale of the BMW 5 series has been more than 55 lakhs upto the 5th generation. The BMW motors unveiled the 6th generation BMW 5 series which is having increased performance, mileage, larger size and most modern technologies whose sale is supposed to start in March 2010.

The new 5 series which shares some of the features of the BMW 7 series has a round roof as of a coupe. The new model has a longer wheelbase (2968mm) than its successors. The new 5 series has 4 petrol variants and 3 diesel variants. The base model BMW 520 D has 4 cylinder turbo-charged common rail diesel engine. This engine has a maximum power of 184 bhp and a maximum torque of 500 Nm @ 1750 rpm. It has a mileage of 20 km/L. The top end model BMW 550 I has an 8 cylinder double turbo petrol engine. It possess new 8 speed auto transmission. The price is expected to be Rs. 52,00,000. The new 6th generation BMW 5 series is expected to touch the Indian roads in June 2010.
