"Fireblade" was originally the world market term for Honda's 900 cc sport bike. It now encompasses several models spanning from 1992, starting with the Honda CBR900RR.
Launched in 1992, the CBR900RR's large displacement engine coupled with its relatively light weight and nimble frame was unheard of. Since then there have been numerous variations from the original 893 cc Blade to the current CBR1000RR.
The Fireblade which is famous as the sports bike with good control has been launched in India. The CBR 1000R and CBR 1000RR cost Rs. 9.5 lakhs and 12.5 lakhs respectively.
The 999 cc water cooled 4 cylinder engine of CBR 1000RR has a power of 178 bhp. It also has A.B.S. and 6-speed gear transmission technologies. The 998 cc liquid cooled 4 cylinder engine of CBR 1000R has a power of 123 bhp. The tank capacity is 17 litres for both the bikes. The bikes are sold through the exclusive showrooms of Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata.
